AdYO 2012 Scholarships

Adelaide Youth Orchestras has been fortunate to receive some funds from private donors and the South Australian Government for us to provide scholarships

  1. to assist current participants who are experiencing financial hardship.

In most cases you will need to be a Centrelink recipient to be eligible for this scholarship. The Adelaide Youth Orchestras may require you to prove receipt of that benefit. By receiving a Centrelink benefit, it doesn’t mean that you will automatically receive a scholarship. From time-to-time, we will also need to consider other issues.

  1. to assist country and outer-metropolitan students with travel costs
  1. to encourage participation by public school students, with special funds specifically available for Adelaide Youth Sinfonia students who play woodwind, brass and percussion instruments.

The number of scholarships available is limited and successful applicants may not necessarily receive full funding for all requested support.

The scholarships up to a maximum of $500 will be used to in part or fully reimburse costs associated with your participation. These costs could include membership fees and travel.

All applications and enquiries will be treated in the strictest confidence.

If you receive a scholarship, the following conditions will apply:

  1. Reliable and punctual attendance at all rehearsals and performances;
  2. Scholarship recipient acknowledges that there is no guarantee that they’ll receive ongoing support in future years.
  3. If student withdraws from enrolment or misses an unacceptable number of rehearsals, the student might be asked to repay the scholarship.

Following the application deadline of Monday 23 January 2012, your application will be assessed by the Chair, Artistic Director and/or General Manager, in keeping with AdYO’s scholarship policy and procedure. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
