Sebastian Phlox is an Adelaide-based composer and musician, currently completing his doctoral studies at Elder Conservatorium of Music. Sebastian has studied under Graeme Koehne, Charles Bodman Rae and Stephen Whittington, as well as attending masterclasses with numerous acclaimed composers. He has had works premiered by many eminent musicians and ensembles. These include the Australian String Quartet, pianist Anna Goldsworthy, the Soundstream Collective and leading members of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Having a passion for multidisciplinary art, Sebastian enjoys collaborating with artists working in non-musical media, especially dance and creative writing. His score for a dance work, Unexplained, was performed at the 2013 Adelaide Fringe and received a high commendation at the Fringe Awards. When not writing, Sebastian is an organist and conductor, regularly working with orchestras and choirs around Adelaide. He has played piano for AdYO in the past and is currently in the AdYO Alumni Ensemble. He is principal organist at Crafers Church of the Epiphany.
