The Adelaide Youth Orchestra each week caters for over 170 young musicians in its three orchestras: Adelaide Youth Orchestra, Adelaide Youth Sinfonia and Adelaide Youth Strings.

As part of our orchestral programs, we present concerts, tour, have tutorials with professional musicians from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and have intensive rehearsal camps. To keep the cost of participating in them to the minimum, we are seeking donations.

As well, in each orchestra we are able to make all of the orchestras’ chairs available for sponsorship at $200 per annum. Through sponsoring a chair, you’re helping cover costs of tutoring and presenting concerts.

Make a bequest

Bequests are a simple yet incredibly powerful way to provide support for the causes that matter the most to you. They transfer your Will into one of the most potent tools for change there is, with little or no impact on your lifestyle today. Best of all, if you choose to include what is know as a residuary bequest in your Will, you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that your loved ones will be catered for without sacrificing your long-term support for The Adelaide Youth Orchestra.

Types of Bequests:

Residuary bequest

This is simply a gift of whatever is left of your estate (or a percentage thereof) after all your other gifts, taxes and debts have been fulfilled. As they are not specific amounts of money, this sort of bequest keeps its value regardless of inflation over the years. It means that the gift you include today is worth just as much when the time comes to put it to work to help SA’s leading young musicians bring orchestral music to life

Pecuniary bequest

This refers to leaving a gift of a set dollar amount determined by you at the time of drawing up or altering your Will.

Specific bequest

This is leaving a gift of an item of specific value to be passed on to The Adelaide Youth Orchestra in order to generate funds. Suggested wording for a bequest to The Adelaide Youth Orchestra

We recommend that you seek advice from your solicitor when making or updating your Will.

Residuary bequest

I give, devise and bequeath to The Adelaide Youth Orchestra free from all duties, the following ______ percentage OR the remainder of my estate and direct that the receipt of the General Manager for the time being will be a sufficient discharge to my trustees

Pecuniary bequest

I give devise and bequeath to The Adelaide Youth Orchestra free from all duties, the following $______ amount and direct that the receipt of the General Manager for the time being will be a sufficient discharge to my trustees.

Specific bequest

I give, devise and bequeath to The Adelaide Youth Orchestra free from all duties, the following ______ item/s and direct that the receipt of the General Manager for the time being will be a sufficient discharge to my trustees.

If you would like to discuss making a bequest or already have made a provision for the Orchestra through your will, AdYO’s General Manager, Christopher Wainwright would be pleased to talk with you in strict confidence. T: (08) 8233 6256.
