Volunteering At AdYO

AdYO is fortunate to have many parents and other individuals who generously donate their time, energy and skills not only at concerts but behind the scenes, fundraising and helping with administrative work. All contributions large or small are hugely appreciated. We are all time poor, but please think seriously about becoming part of AdYO’s wonderful team of volunteers and helpers. It’s rewarding and fun.

What can I do to help AdYO?

There is a variety of ways you can participate. Some jobs require minimal time and commitment whilst others may take a little extra effort. To give you an idea of the types of jobs we have in mind, here is a summary of the tasks parents currently do:

  • Performances/Concerts – You can help with ticket sales, ushering, selling drinks or programmes, setting up chairs and stands or blowing up balloons. At the AdSI and AYS concerts, we also need help with the setting out and clearing away of afternoon tea.
  • Fundraising – We may need people to be in charge of raffles and other such fundraising activities. You may know of people we can contact regarding donations of goods or prizes or to help us with this task.
  • Computer or administrative skills who are happy to donate their time on a regular basis.
  • You may also like to volunteer and help out with this year’s AdSI & AYS camps.

The process for applying for a National Police Certificate is as follows:

  1. Complete page 1 of the National Police Certificate Form, by typing your details directly into the PDF form.
  2. In the category part of the form, please tick working with children and in the check type, please tick volunteer.
  3. Then print off the form and take it with your 100 points of ID to a SA Police Station. Click here to find out what you need to bring.
  4. Return form and certified identification paperwork to AdYO GPO Box 2121 Adelaide for them to complete VOAN section.
  5. AdYO completes the Volunteer Authority Part of the Form and then posts the form back to SAPOL.
  6. SAPOL sends the NPC certificate to the volunteer.
  7. Volunteer then makes a copy of certificate and sends it to AdYO.
  8. AdYO enters certificate into secure NPC database and includes it in the volunteer’s personnel file.
