Pelham Andrews

Australian Bass, Pelham Andrews, trained in the UK, Germany and Australia, and has worked with Opera Australia, State Opera of South Australia, Victorian Opera, English National Opera and numerous other companies. He has performed repertoire which includes Timur (Turandot), Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Lodovico (Otello), Padre Guardiano (Forza del Destino), Colline (La boheme), Nourabad (Pearl Fishers), Geronte (Manon Lescaut), Tio Salvador (La Vida Breve), Mephistopheles (La Damnation de Faust) and Lester Lamb (Cloudstreet - premiere).

Pelham's performances in 2019 include the Parson and Badger (Cunning Little Vixen), Ben (Madeline Lee), The Bonze (Madama Butterfly) and the title role in The Mikado for State Opera South Australia, Commendatore (Don Giovanni) for the Auckland Philharmonia, and Towards First Light for the Adelaide Concert Collective.

Pelham has performed in concert with ensembles such as the Adelaide, Queensland, Tasmanian and Aalborg Symphony Orchestras, Sydney Philharmonia Choir, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Welsh Millenium Centre, Adelaide Concert Collective and Napier Civic Choir in such repertoire as the Beethoven Ninth Symphony, Handel Messiah, Wagner Scenes, Bach Cantatas, and the Requiems and Masses of Brahms, Verdi, Mozart, and Fauré.
