take your seat

Chair Supporter Program

Adelaide Youth Orchestras’ Take Your Seat program invites you to play a vital role in shaping the next generation of South Australian musicians.

Sponsor a chair, uplift a young musician.

By supporting a specific chair within one of our ensembles, you create a direct and meaningful connection to the music, the musicians, and the vibrant future of orchestras in our UNESCO City of Music.

Take Your Seat is more than support – it’s belonging.

It’s standing behind our young musicians as they grow, learn, and shine – on stage and beyond.

Why Take Your Seat?

Empower young musicians across SA

Your support helps ensure talented young people from metropolitan and regional communities can access exceptional music education and performance opportunities.

Enjoy meaningful, personal experiences

Chair Supporters are warmly welcomed into the AdYO family, with opportunities to connect more closely with our community and gain insight into the journey of our young musicians.

Make a lasting impact

Your support helps provide tuition, expert instruction, instruments, ensemble programs, and the many, many elements needed to sustain a thriving youth music organisation.

Strengthen the artistic heart of our community

Join an ensemble of supporters who share a passion for music, creativity, and the future of collaborative music-making in South Australia.

how it works

When you ‘take your seat,’ you become the named supporter of a specific chair within one of our ensembles – from junior players taking their first orchestral steps to advanced musicians leading a section.

Each chair has a single supporter, ensuring an exclusive, personal connection to the position you champion. Your name (or family name, group name, or chosen dedication) appears alongside that chair in concert programs, on the AdYO website, and in our annual Yearbook. You may also choose to remain anonymous.

Chairs currently supported include:

  • Baldwin Family Symphonic Winds Conductor’s Podium
  • Friends of the ASO Youth Orchestra Principal Trumpet Chair
  • Rosie Cameron & Cameron Grant Junior Strings Principal Cello Chair
  • Karen & Simon Wood Wind Ensemble Conductors’ Podium (pictured at right).

Your annual supporter experience

In recognition of your support, you may be invited to attend concerts, gatherings, and special moments that celebrate the achievements of the next generation of South Australian performers.

AdYO acknowledges its Chair Supporters with:

  • exclusive naming rights attached to your supported chair (musicians may change, but the position is yours),
  • the option to dedicate your chair in your family’s name, honour someone special, or remain anonymous,
  • a personalised letter of thanks from our Artistic Director and Executive Director,
  • recognition in concert programs, on our website, and in the AdYO Yearbook,
  • invitations to gatherings and special moments that celebrate our musicians and supporters, and
  • occasional opportunities to attend open rehearsals or experience the music-making process behind the scenes.

Supporters of leadership chairs, such as the Conductor’s Podium or Concertmaster Chair, may also receive invitations to attend AdYO performances throughout the season as honoured guests.

Renewals and availability

Chair Supporter naming rights last for 12 months, with existing supporters offered priority renewal each year.

A list of supported chairs will be maintained online and in our concert programs, ensuring clarity and exclusivity: one supporter or syndicate per chair.

Seat syndicates

Join forces and share the chair!

For groups of friends, families, alumni, colleagues, or studio cohorts, the Seat Syndicate offers a way to collectively sponsor a chair. Together, your group supports one position and is recognised as a collective. For example: The Alumni Flute Cohort, Supporters of the Principal Flute Chair, AdYO Wind Ensemble.

Each member receives full recognition and benefits, and syndicates may name their group or list individual supporters. It’s a wonderful entry point for younger alumni and new networks to stay connected and give back.

When you take your seat, you help shape the sound of tomorrow. You become part of the AdYO story – and they become part of yours.

Take your seat today, and help our young musicians take theirs.
