Aus Lights on the River is back again for 2026, with a free program of events that reminds us that we are all part of the story under the theme of Respect, Reflect, Celebrate.
The Official Ceremony features live performances from the dynamic Diana Rouvas (Winner of The Voice Australia), Festival Statesmen Choir, Young Adelaide Voices, and musical collaborations with the Adelaide Youth Orchestra.
The program concludes with a spectacular fireworks display over the River Torrens - an experience not to be missed.
Multiple performances | 20-22 February 2026
Star Theatres, Sir Donald Bradman Dr, Hilton
The Score is a live and interactive orchestra experience in which the audience plays games on their own phones. Subsequently, the “scores” of these games will actually influence in real time what Adelaide Youth Orchestras will play.
How does it work?
The audience downloads our app for The Score via their mobile browsers. Once the collective is ready, the game begins. The scores of the audience directly affect what, and how, the orchestra plays. (One of the few instances where you’re encouraged to use your phone during a concert.)
5-11pm | Monday 26 January 2026
Elder Park / Tarntanya Wama, Adelaide
Once more in 2026, Adelaide Youth Orchestras and Elder Conservatorium are bringing together young brass players from across Adelaide for our annual Brass Day.
Participants will connect with other young players and learn from top instrumentalists from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide University and AdYO.
On top of expert instruction and fascinating perspectives from industry professionals, participants will have the opportunity to workshop and perform together in a level-appropriate ensemble in a fun, relaxed concert at the end of the day.
As a first, we also have a teacher component for the day. If you would like to learn more about your instrument, or other brass instruments, from specialists, work with the Elder Conservatorium’s Head of Brass in Emma Gregan in a teacher ensemble, or help out with our younger ensembles, sign up and get involved!
A detailed schedule and line-up of instructors is coming soon, but registrations are now open!
Eligibility: Brass players from Year 4 to Year 12 (must be currently taking instrumental lessons on a brass instrument). This day is only available to students and teachers to attend.
Co-presented by Adelaide Youth Orchestras and Elder Conservatorium
