AdYO’s Youth Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Wind Ensemble, Sinfonia, Junior Strings hit the main stage under the Gawler Place canopy, entertaining thousands of city-goers, music lovers and families throughout the day.
Meanwhile, a range of chamber groups – from string quartets to jazz ensembles – performed to appreciative shoppers in the grand atrium of the Myer Centre (one of our generous Big Busk sponsors for 2024).
In the lead-up to Sidewalk Symphonies, our ensembles went head to head in peer-to-peer fundraising to compete for some great prizes, including the ultimate orchestra reward: the coveted Big Busk Pizza Party!
Between our amazing players’ efforts and on-the-day donations, we raised more than $13,000 to purchase essential equipment to support our weekly rehearsals and concert programs.
An event of this size wouldn’t be possible without the support of our amazing sponsors Australian String Quartet, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Australian Hiring Company, the Myer Centre, Greenlight Comics, Size Music, Fabled Games and Dragon’s Lair St Marys. Another huge thanks to the wonderful volunteers who contributed their time and skills to support our players and team for Sidewalk Symphonies.
A final, special thank you to the incredibly generous donors who helped make 2024’s Big Busk such a huge success. We couldn’t do what we do without your support!
